The 4 Star award is a peer- leadership award which will train you to perform competently on grade 2-3 white water and safely lead groups of other competent paddlers on Grade 2-3.
Course Description Duration - 2 days Training (obligatory) and 2 days Assessment This course is about two things:
Throughout the course we will look at how to safely lead a group of competent kayakers down grade 2/3 white water. The various leadership styles that we will show you will require you to be able to move your kayak around the river confidently and be able to gain eddies where required. This nicely allows us to coach your personal skills to help you gain these positions easily and with grace. On top of this we will also be looking at rescue skills. This is an excellent course to help you get more out of your river running, whether you are looking to lead groups or just be more confident at going out on the rivers, this is the perfect course.
