The Explore White Water Open Canoeing 2 day course is suitable for the absolute beginner through to those with some white water experience who want to improve their skills.

If you have ever fancied running the rapids on a river, then this is the course for you. We take pride in this course. You will learn a lot, do a lot of paddling and if you are not superhuman your muscles will be aching the next day! We usually include a lecturette, and a flat-water session, and then it is on to the adrenaline pumping white water for the rest of the weekend. We usually include sweep strokes, edging, low brace support, low brace turns, hip flicking, high brace support, river hazards, breaking in/out, ferry gliding, swimming in white water, route choice and equipment choice. This course is always tailored to the participants and we reserve the right to change the programme if necessary.

Building on the content of the Discover course, the second day is toally focused on you being able to pick your way down a river, as opposed to being pushed by the flow! You'll also have plenty of time to practice and refine your new found skills. Throughout the two days you will have flat-water sessions, some theory, and lots and lots of white water time! This course is for those who are fairly new to the sport, and have held a paddle, floated around and loved it, but desperately want to increase the tempo.

Please Note - Young people aged 14 to 17 years must be accompanied by a participating adult. We are unable to offer a reduced rate for Under 18s for any of our White Water activities.
