Freeze Dried Strawberries Space Food

Whole strawberries provide a tasty quick snack for any busy astronaut. Just tear open the foil pouch, eat, and enjoy. Freeze-dried foods like this are eaten by astronauts under weightlessness conditions in space. Originally developed for the early Apollo missions, food is frozen to -40 degrees F (-40 degrees C) and then vacuum dried and placed in a special foil pouch. This product is manufactured by the same company that supplies freeze-dried foods to NASA for Space Shuttle missions.
